- helps organisations to find the best possible staff by targeting a specific group of motivated job seekers
- raises awareness of an increasing variety of environmental careers
- promotes the uptake of environmental education
- provides information on the evolution of the environmental jobs market
- facilitates a dialogue between schools, universities, government, employers, job seekers and students to enable informed decision-making
- promotes environmental events related to environmental employment, education, training or networking
- regularly seeks feedback from customers and subscribers to improve services
- conducts environmental auditing and constantly expands sustainable operations policies to ensure best practise.

- a user-friendly website with platforms for Jobs, Education, Events and Resources
- up-to-date databases of environment and sustainability related jobs, courses and events
- the EJN Weekly mailout for subscribers with information from the website
- careers workshops and counselling
- industry focused seminars and networking events
- awareness raising at schools, universities and career expos
- development and publication of materials for people seeking to enter the environment and sustainability sector
- policy research for universities, government and industry bodies.
