Green Information Technology Strategies aims to teach students how they can help reduce carbon emissions. Students will learn about ICT strategies through online learning, which includes tutoring, mentoring, student discussion forums and weekly feedback. The course is led by Tom Worthington (FACS, HLM), an independent ICT consultant to Government and Industry and adjunct Senior Lecturer at ANU.

Course Structure
The course is delivered via the web with no attendance required. To complete the subject you will need to spend 8-10 hours each week reading, communicating with colleagues and tutors, and preparing assignments. Students can undertake the course entirely online via the web from anywhere in the world. Available: • as part of the ANU Graduate Studies Select program • to anyone who wants to do just this one course on its own, where you can register online • to students at other universities in Australia and around the world. • as part of an ANU masters course.
Course Requirements
The course assumes no technical knowledge of computing. If you do not have a degree, you are expected to have work experience in the ICT or similar areas. Reading and writing business reports would be a suitable background for a prospective student.
Course Prospects
This course is intended for professionals in information technology and other fields who wish to have a role in setting the environmental standards in organisations, assessing energy reduction and materials use strategy and the assessment of carbon emission reduction policies.
