John Holland has won the contract to deliver the $324m early works package for Victoria’s biggest public transport project, Metro Tunnel.
The contract includes relocation and protection of underground and above ground utility services, major site preparation works including land clearing, property demolition, tree protection and removal, temporary relocation of important monuments and PPP interface works comprising construction of large access shafts and associated works to enable future construction of the tunnels and five new underground stations.
An opportunity has become available for an Environmental Manager on the Metro Tunnel Early Works project.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Provide environmental guidance, diligence and consistency to internal stakeholders.
Support the development, implementation and ongoing management of project environmental management systems.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legal, regulatory and company environmental requirements.
Communicate environment matters to management and project staff as appropriate.
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines.
Construction environment management (8+ years).
Knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures and processes.
Knowledge and understanding of low level incident investigations.
