Senior Geotechnical Tailings Engineer

This international engineering and environmental services company work across mining, oil & gas, power, transport, water and environmental sectors. They have received several awards for completed projects and business management. With the Australian arm operating out of Brisbane, a new technical leader is required to support the team and work on a number of large new and existing projects.


Reporting to the Director, your focus will involve:
  • Providing senior technical knowledge around design of tailings storage, dams and worldwide mining projects
  • Travelling to remote and sometimes environmentally and logistically challenging environments.
  • Project management and delivery (budgets, time and quality)
  • Review and prepare technical reports
  • Preparation of proposals and business development
  • Mentorship and training of employees

To be considered for this role you will have a tertiary degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering or Geology PLUS:
  • Demonstrable capabilities and experience in supervising and leading others
  • Extensive experience in design and field work as a Tailings Engineer
  • Strong management capabilities around budgets, proposals and business development
  • Experience working on copper and gold mining projects
  • Passion for successful delivery on long term environmental engineering projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Desire for a long term position
