Salary Range: $70-$86K (inc 9% super)

Bush Heritage is a national non-profit organisation that protects Australia’s unique animals, plants and their habitats.  We do this by acquiring and managing land of outstanding conservation value, or by working in partnership with other landowners.  Our strategy for land acquisition is focused around several priority regions across Australia which are defined areas of ecological interest.  Our vision for 2025 is to protect 1 per cent of Australia.

The Regional Reserve Manager will be responsible for overseeing the people and activities on Charles Darwin Reserve and Eurardy Reserve properties and land management partnerships.  This will involve:

  • undertaking natural resource management activities including fire, feral animal and weed control;
  • managing people and maintaining their safety;
  • facilitating the development of work plans;
  • developing contracts for supply of a range of NRM related activities; and
  • managing relationships with neighbouring land owners, mining companies and land managers.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in natural resource management including OHS and fire suppression and planned burning;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • The ability and capacity to manage staff, volunteers and contractors;
  • Well-developed organisation, planning, coordination and project management skills, and;
  • The ability to develop and implement strategic plans incorporating delivery standards and measures.

The position is based on Bush Heritage’s Charles Darwin Reserve, located approximately 60-km’s east Perenjori (previously known as White Wells Station).
