What will you do?
In this position as an experienced Ecologist you will join our Advisory business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of projects - from major infrastructure projects to precinct size land developments.
We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
- Complete background research to establish known ecological values
- Comparable type of experience in a similar role
- Undertake ecological assessment - both field and desktop
- Assess ecological significance and potential impacts from infrastructure in accordance with relevant guidelines and legislative requirements
- Undertake targeted research and restoration projects to assist clients to meet their legislative requirements
- Report the results and develop management recommendations in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements
- Be involved with and mentored in the advancement of eco-digital assessments
We know today’s complex challenges can only be solved through bringing together diverse teams of people from across our business, so there will be opportunities for you to apply your skills and creativity to projects in other geographies and markets.
What can you bring to the team?
Firstly, you will be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need to have completed a relevant university qualification in ecology, botany or environmental science (Bachelor degree as a minimum). You will have past exposure to or preferably competency as a Victorian Vegetation Quality Assessor and experience identifying native flora species. You will have a particular area of ecological expertise or interest that you believe will benefit Aurecon and our approach.
