Tablelands Mining Group Pty Ltd is a private company focused on small to medium sized mines with high-grade iron ore and magnetite deposits. Tablelands Mining Group is positioning itself to become a strategic supplier of high-grade iron ore and magnetite from the North Queensland region of Australia. Tablelands Mining Group’s target market is the steel production industry. It is currently in an exploration phase and is looking to expand its operations to 2 operating mines and a wet beneficiation facility within the next year. Tablelands Mining Group has its own port facility and ship loading infrastructure at Port Mourilyan and has successfully exported to China previous production from the Mt Lucy and Mt Ruby mine sites. Location: This position is Cairns office based with field work required at the Mt Garnet, Chillagoe and Port Mourilyan sites.

Whilst a Cairns based applicant would be preferred, FIFO applicants will be considered.

Environment Manager

The Environment Manager is focussed on delivering compliance-driven productive and profitable outcomes for the business through effective leadership of the Environmental team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, specific responsibilities include:

  • engendering a culture of compliance, risk management and high performance;
  • managing the environmental monitoring programs in place for the existing sites;
  • overall responsibility for submission of all lodgements, amendments and applications to the relative administering authority (DEHP);
  • reviewing and implementing operational environmental plans;
  • initiating business improvements;
  • managing third party environmental contractor engagement;
  • Maintaining a positive relationship with the Administering Authority (DEHP)

The position of Environment Manager requires a relevant degree in an environmental science, leadership experience of an environmental team within the mining, quarrying or similar heavy industry. This position will suit an individual with a strong approvals process background who can drive both statutory and practical compliance within the business. Personal attributes including integrity and drive, attention to detail, and highly developed organisational skills.
