Environmental Operations Coordinator
About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we require a technical expert in either the field of bushfire management, invasive weed management, biosecurity or ecological restoration who will assist, support, coach and coordinate the NRM Field Officers, Biosecurity Officer, Bushfire Management Officer and Environmental Contracts Officer at PMHC. On a typical day our Environmental Operations Coordinator will:
- Liaise with external and internal customers including community members such as volunteer groups;
- Undertaking site inspections to assess biosecurity requirements or contracted works;
- Secure contracts for ecological restorations works;
- Approve budget expenditure;
- Met with your team members to talk through projects, offer support or provide guidance.

This is a full time, permanent role, with remuneration in the range of $77,120 - $81,807 per annum (depending on skills and experience), plus 9.5% superannuation. The role is 35 hour a week, with access to Council’s Flexible Working Hours policy.
A vehicle option is available to the successful candidate.
About Councils Natural Resources Team
The Natural Resources Team provides technical services to the community in regards to management of the natural environment extending from hinterland to the coastline in the Port Macquarie Hastings Local Government Area. We do so through the provision of invasive weed management, ecological restoration, bushfire risk mitigation and hazard management works, ecological advice on internal and external development applications and coast, estuary and flood management. Works include on-ground improvements and also policy and planning projects. The team works with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve the goals as set by the community.
