About the role 

To support the delivery of environmental planning, assessment, and approvals advice that enables improved business, customer, and environmental outcomes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Perform environmental planning, identify approval pathways and prepare assessments in accordance with quality standards, legislative obligations, and internal delegations
  • Under supervision, secure appropriate environmental approvals, licenses, and permits
  • Provide environmental advice to project teams and technical audiences, drawing upon the experience and established procedures/guidelines
  •  Scope, engage, and manage the provision of specialist technical expertise
  • Support and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Contribute to innovation, knowledge sharing and provide on-the-job training to less experienced team members.

About you 

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science/environmental management (or other relevant disciplines) and about 3 years of experience in a relevant role
  • Proven experience in environmental planning, environmental impact assessment, and environmental approvals for infrastructure development projects
  • Sound knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and current environmental issues
  • Competent identification and implementation of actions to manage environmental issues and assure environmental performance for engineering projects
  • Highly developed oral and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Understanding and experience with major water or other similar infrastructure utility.
