  • Manage one of SA’s largest environmental infrastructure assets

Lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop, manage and deliver the SEWCDB Management Plan and execute the priorities of the Board and Department for water management in the South East region of South Australia.

About us

The South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board (“the Board”) has a key goal of managing the South East (SE) Drainage Network and infrastructure to retain water and manage flows to benefit primary production, connected water systems and wetlands. This requires water regimes to be sustainably managed across both the upper and lower south east through optimal management, operations and maintenance of drains, channels and floodways.

The Opportunity

A rare and exciting opportunity to lead a revitalised team in the South East region of South Australia to manage the SE drainage network.

Reporting to the Board and Department Executive, the Manager will drive the development, management and delivery of the SEWCDB Management Plan to effectively manage the South East Drainage Network, a significant infrastructure asset that underpins the economic viability of the South East, mitigates the impact of flooding events and provides environmental benefits to wetlands.

About You

Your skills and expertise in leading, managing and developing a multi-disciplinary team will be critical to your success in this role.

You will appreciate the nuances of working in a regional environment, and along with your collaboration and engagement capabilities, you will have a reputation for successfully delivering a large program of work within a budget. You will have a track record of driving strategic planning, policy development and service delivery to achieve outcomes within a Board led and/or government context.

You will demonstrate your knowledge and appreciation of the issues surrounding infrastructure management and natural resource management in particular water issues and may hold qualifications in business, environmental science or engineering.
