Summary of Duties
The Principal Adviser is responsible for leading complex site contamination assessment and remediation (mitigation) projects commissioned by the Environment Protection Authority (EPA). The Principal Adviser will provide leadership of the team that delivers the projects for high profile/high risk site contamination matters that are determined to be orphan sites or subject to regulatory oversight by the EPA. The Principal Adviser is a key source of expert advice and opinion in relation to site contamination for the EPA. The Principal Adviser provides high quality professional verbal and written advice and will implement the relevant statutory requirements of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (the Act).
The occupant must be eligible to work in Australia
The occupant will be required to work outside of normal working hours and undertake some intrastate/interstate travel requiring overnight absences.
The maintenance of a current driver’s licence is essential.
The occupant must be able to be appointed as an Authorised Officer pursuant to the Environment Protection Act 1993.
The EPA supports and actively encourages flexible working arrangements to enable its staff to effectively balance work and life. Such arrangements may be negotiated with the Branch Manager.
Bachelor degree in science, engineering or other recognised degree level qualification that is related to site contamination
PO4 ($102,496 to $111,705 per annum) + Super
