Trees In Newcastle is a not-for-profit environmental organisation that operates a well-established native plant nursery at our site at Belmont Wetlands State Park. Our nursery staff provide plants to the community with local provenance grown from seed collected in our region, as well as advice on appropriate species selection, planting strategies, and ongoing care.

- A hard worker with a positive attitude
- Current driver’s licence and own transport
- Passion for Australian native plants
- Be dedicated & committed to the qualification and term of the apprenticeship
- Able to use online learning technologies or willingness to learn
- Able to work independently
Your key responsibilities as a Nursery Operations apprentice
- Propagate and maintain healthy nursery plants
- Identify native plants, their characteristics, and growing requirements
- Receive and dispatch nursery products
- Maintain nursery systems, equipment, procedures and materials including irrigation systems
- Use IT systems for recordkeeping
- Share information relating to current industry methods
- Provide information on plants and their culture to nursery customers and volunteers
- Comply with WHS policies and procedures
