Hume City Council is seeking a suitably qualified and enthusiastic individual to take on the exciting new role of Park Liaison Officer. This role will primarily liaise with park user stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure park access requests are managed to protect park assets. The role will ensure Parks are well presented and fit for use for events held in parks.

You will be committed to ensuring Councils open space assets are presented at a high level of amenity and appearance to enhance the park user experience. Your eye for detail and knowledge of Park asset maintenance will assist with this aim.

Qualifications and/or experience in horticulture/landscape construction and demonstrated experience in park maintenance practises will provide the required Skills and knowledge to succeed in this role.

Knowledge of parks and open space management and maintenance practices, a demonstrated understanding of Occupational Health and Safety issues in the work place and an ability work within set budgets and timelines are highly desirable.

Skills in works and project programming, minor park development project management, asset protection methods and the use of GIS applications will further strengthen your suitability for this role.

  • Ability to identify stakeholder needs and expectations and decide on appropriate action and responses
  • Proven and demonstrated ability to effectively plan day to day workloads and to implement and monitor the progress of work programs and projects
