Regional Project Coordinator

About the branch

The Northern Victoria Region is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Regional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division’s statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves. Staff working within the region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities:

As Regional Project Coordinator you will work in a supportive, and implementation role for projects at a regional level. You will work across a diverse range or areas including asset, environmental, community and heritage works that are to be delivered as part of a defined project - often with tied specific funding to that project. Projects delivered by the Regional Project Coordinator are time bound and require clear focus on delivery timeframes and successful project management.

In this role you will perform a variety of tasks and work in all phases of a project. You must have a thorough understanding of project management and of the goals of the work and prioritise and track the implementation of the work. This involves planning and consultation with Parks Victoria and non-Parks Victoria partners, co-ordinating on-ground works, developing operational plans, issuing contracts, monitoring progress and reporting to ensure Parks Victoria delivers the outcomes as agreed under contracts with funding partners and Parks Victoria’s Business Plan. The plans may include stakeholder and communication strategy and activities.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Science and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical problem solving.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in delivering projects across a range of outputs.
  • Previous stakeholder management experience required.
