The Role

Make a difference in our community!

You will be developing, implementing and evaluating Council’s key Sustainable Environment policies, strategies and plans that help shape our City. You are the lead on climate change adaptation planning for the organisation enabling significant change in decision making, practices and processes that facilitate improved governance. 

About you

The successful applicant will need to have:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental policy or related field with relevant experience in the local government context, or substantial experience in developing and implementing sustainability and adaptation policy, strategy and/or programs.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to research and gather evidence and present accurate, concise technical reports and presentations.
  3. Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to empower and influence people and teams to gain co-operation, build relationships, and facilitate change.
  4. Proven skills and experience in project management with the ability to coordinate, manage and prioritise a wide variety of tasks and achieve quality outcomes on time and within budget.
