ABOUT THE ROLE

eWaste Connection is a registered charity and NDIS provider. We offer unique opportunities for people to undertake a meaningful activity through electrical waste recycling. This role involves guiding participants, coordinating volunteers in e-waste disassembly, and fostering an inclusive, fun, and safe environment where everyone is encouraged to work to their best capacity. You will also become part of the eWaste Connection management team and interact with supervisors at our other two sites. No prior industry experience necessary. We will support you during the onboarding process to help you get up to speed with full confidence. While based in Bundamba, you may occasionally assist at other sites or community events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operations & Safety: Supervise daily workshop activities, oversee daily safety practices, maintain a clean and user friendly workspace, and keep the site organised.
  • Participant & Volunteer Support: Induct new participants, direct volunteers, ensure all participants are actively engaged during sessions, and help grow our local Ipswich community base.
  • Creating Community: Maintain a fun, inclusive, and socially interactive environment where everyone feels included during sessions.
  • Public Engagement: Welcome members of the public arriving to donate e-waste and assist with drop-offs.
  • Administration & Logistics: Manage day to day administrative tasks, oversee site supplies, arrange for timely collection of ewaste.
  • Team Collaboration: Manage a small team of employees, communicate daily priorities clearly, contribute to a positive team dynamic, and work directly with leadership and other staff to resolve issues.

  • Skills in people management, multi-tasking, empathy, and clear communication.
  • Ability to create a welcoming, socially interactive space while keeping work on track.
  • Reliable organizational and basic administrative skills (Google Drive, excel, emails, record keeping).
  • A commitment to eWaste Connection's core values, ethics, and policies.
  • A moderate level of physical fitness, as you may need to be on your feet during most of our workshop sessions
  • Forklift ticket an advantage
  • First Aid and NDIS worker screening required.
