The Regional Victoria Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.
Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves. Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.
About the role and your responsibilities:
You will deliver in park services as directed by the Manager to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. Your primary responsibility of this position will be to support the delivery of on the ground works including, but not limited to, maintenance of assets, infrastructure, and facilities; and the field delivery of environmental projects. In this exciting role you may also undertake Fire and Emergency response activities in accordance with requirements and level of training.
As the Field Service Officer, you will be accountable for personal performance and demonstrate a strong personal work ethic. In this role you will actively participate in a team environment and ensure that the overall success of the team is considered to be an outcome of individual success. You will have the opportunity to show your enhanced skills by being adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times. You may also be required to work across other elements of the delivery on-ground works to protect natural and cultural values and visitor facilities and interpreting the values and features of the estate to park visitors and other stakeholders.
To be successful for this role you will need:
- Certificate or Diploma in Natural Resource Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is desirable.
- Plant, chainsaw and machinery operation experience are desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in self-management.
